Bubby’s Matryoshkas Measuring Cups – $14.99
This set of six dry measuring cups by Fred instantly reminded me of my loving grandmother, her fondness of baking delicious, decadent cookies, and her proud Slovakian ancestry, about which, if you’re interested, she will gladly elucidate you for hours on end. Luckily, I inherited her love for baking. In particular, I adore making cupcakes – super sugary ones, with smashed cookies in the batter, ample amounts of ridiculously creamy, smooth, cavity-inducing frosting, tasty coatings of colorful sprinkles, and – okay, sorry, I’ll stop there. In addition to being fully functional kitchen gadgets, the matryoshka doll facade of these nesting measuring cups makes them ideal for decorating my barren counter top. I cannot wait to add their traditional charm to my kitchen’s decor! -Annie, Fashion Writer

Hooray! Earlier in the year we had the chance to try out the Little Passport service. You can read about it here. I loved the idea and execution but my (then) 3 year old was a little too young to take advantage all the service had to offer. In some exciting news, Little Passports has announced the release of new kits specifically made for preschoolers!! I can’t wait to try them!
Little Passports has a wonderful new program for preschoolers, called Early Explorers. Children ages 3 to 5 can experience the joy of learning about new cultures.
Each month, your child will be introduced to a new theme like animals, music, and landmarks. Early Explorers is designed with preschoolers in mind and provides fun and educational activities, souvenirs and stickers. During the first month, a Traveler’s Kit arrives in a fun orange suitcase. It holds everything a child needs to start learning about the world:
- An activity book introducing new characters Max, Mia, and their dog Toby.
- A wall-sized world map
- Stickers and a wall decal
- A luggage tag
After the first month, a monthly World Theme Kit arrives, which contains:
- An activity booklet
- Flashlight Adventures
- Stickers and wall decals
Early Explorers makes a unique holiday gift for children ages 3 to 5. Learn more about Early Explorers from Little Passports.

Easter is right around the corner but there’s still plenty of time to do this easy Easter hatching chick and egg craft!
I prepped the pieces, then E positioned, glued and assembled. I cut egg shapes out of paper and drew lines to cut across to created the cracked egg effect. I planned on having her cut these herself to practice scissor skills but she was too impatient because, hello, there was glue involved, and glue is the best part.
I also precut yellow circles from tissue paper, some small, some large, to create the chick’s body and head. Some small orange paper rectangles and a black marker made up the beak and eyes.
This last one she did without any assistance at all. I’m so proud!

Currently the most popular projects involve painting them or cutting them into a billion tiny pieces for me to pick up later.
